December/January Fishing Report

a close up of a fish

Hi folks,

We’ve had some great offshore fishing the past week during the Christmas holiday. The offshore waters are alive with plenty of species to bend a rod. We have been targeting blackfin tuna lately and doing well. These fish fight hard and are plentiful this time of year. In the mix there are usually bonito (false albacore), sailfish and sometimes even wahoo. The reef and wreck fishing is terrific in the winter months for snapper too. Mutton snapper, mangrove snapper and yellowtail are some of the best species. Along the reef there are plenty of spanish and cero mackerel too.

Eva Marie is located at the Galleon Resort now in downtown Key West. We offer full day, half day and 3/4 day fishing charters for up to 6 people. For more information on the boat check out the main website and www.evamariekeywest.com. Check out these Black Fin Tuna fish caught aboard the Eva Marie.
